Wo, Today Lab Lesson
Well, Suppost To Have Got Lots Of School Work To Do
But I Am Here Blogging
Just Feel Like It
Here's The Microscopy Suite,
It Is One Of The Most Expansive Lab You Can Ever Find In SP
Each Equipment Can Easily Cost Half A Million !!!!!
If You Ever Think Of Stealing Any Of The Equipment
It Is Located At T11A402
White Building, Easily Spotted While On The Train At Dover Station
This The Outside Of The Lab, Can Start Plan Your Route
The Door Also Stated Microscopy Suite,
So Let's Go In !
First We Should Aim For The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
Cause It Is Nearest To The Door,
- 1 Of The Most Widely Techniques
Used In Characterisation Of Nanomaterials & Nanostructures
- Magnifications Easily Adjusted From 10 To Over 300,000 Times !!!
- Produce Topographical Information, Meaning Structural Surface,
And Also Chemical Information Near The Surface
It Works Simply By Shooting Electron At 1000 To 25000 Kw Of Voltage
Through Condenser And Objective Lens, It Refocus The Electron To Be
Shoot Into The Specimen
While The Scan Coils And Scan Generator Thru The Amplifier,
Detect And Record The Data Collected
Next Will Be The Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) > Scanning Force Microscopy (AFM)
It Is The Smallest And Lightest Equipment, So It Would Be Easier To Carry Away
- It Is Also Unique Among Other Microscopy As It Provide 3-D Real-Space Images
- It Also Allows Spatially Localised Measurements Of Structure & Properties
Simply Works By Detecting Forces Between Sample And Tip,
By Using A Sharp, Pyramidal Tip Mounted On A Cantilever
And The Images Of The Surface Are Obtained By
Recording The Cantilever Deflections,
As Detected By A Displacement Sensor
There's The Lap Teacher, Look So Much Like Oistein
Or Mad Scientist Lor, Haha, He's Name Sunny
But Can You See On The Computer Screen,
There's The 3-D Images Of The Sample
And My Classmate
Close Up Look At The Microscopy
Close Up Look At The Computer Result
Here It Is, The Most Expansive Equipment If You Want
Should Cost Around Few Million Sing Dollar
It's The Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
Just Works Like A (SEM), Except It Got Addition Capability
E.g Like Determination Of Melting Points Of Nanocrystal
Another Close Up Look
And If You Need Any More Information
Just Approach Any Of My Friendly Classmate
Who Will Be Most Willing To Tell You More About
The Function Of The Microscopy And Where They Are
Have A Safe And Success Trip
Do Let Me Know If You Are Interested
Cya
Nite
OOP Test Tmr = Sian
* The whole life of man is but a point of time
Let us enjoy it *
